Dr. Liu is a highly skilled physician specializing in interventional pain management with a focus on pain from musculoskeletal conditions. He is dual fellowship trained and double board certified in both anesthesiology and pain management with education and training at world renowned academic institutions.
Dr. Liu obtained his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, a prestigious Ivy League medical school ranked among the top medical schools in the country. After graduation, he stayed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to complete residency training in anesthesiology and pain medicine. After residency, Dr. Liu completed completed further fellowship training in both peri-operative management at Stanford University as well as interventional pain management at the Tri-Institute Program at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Hospital for Special Surgery, the most prestigious medical institutions in New York City. Throughout his training, Dr. Liu has gained extensive experience in the most effective and cutting edge treatments and non-surgical and minimally invasive interventions for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain.
Before joining Tri-Valley Orthopedics, Dr. Liu was an assistant professor in the department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the prestigious Yale University School of Medicine where he was the associated director of pain medicine at the Yale Spine Center. At Yale Dr. Liu further sharpened his skills taking care of difficult and complex patients with a variety of spine related conditions as well as work along side of other world renowned doctors in the field of spine medicine. Dr. Liu now brings his wealth of experience and skills to Tri-Valley Orthopedics and his patients in the East Bay and Beyond.
